Change the software or version on your Minecraft server

We've made it super simple to change the server software and version on your Minecraft server.

You can also use your own custom server jar! Just upload it through the Files tab and rename the file to server.jar – the server should use it on next boot.

Head to our game panel at panel.lilypad.gg and select your server.

Select the Software button in the sidebar, then choose the server software you want to install. Not sure which one to pick? Read: Which Minecraft server software is right for me?

Choose a version to install, along with any available addons, and click Install at the bottom.

The next time you start up your server, it should now use the version you installed. Enjoy!

Be aware – worlds generated using newer versions of Minecraft cannot be loaded by older server versions, your world will fail to load on server start and you'll need to delete your current world folder so it can regenerate. Luckily, tools like Chunker (made by the Hive Games team) exist can be very useful when making a world compatible with earlier versions.
